Teacher... Student... I'm the same...

I have been talking to some teachers for a while and I've realized something: a lot of them became teachers because of some unexpected reasons. It's so nice to know that even if they didn't choose teaching to be their primary goal before, they are now trying their best to do what they can to do their jobs professionally as well as enjoying it at the same time.

I know what their profession is by heart, since I'm also a teacher myself (I started my professional teaching career at the age of 11), and I can only see a few students who appreciate their (as well as my) hard work. Even if I'm also a student myself as of now, I somewhat feel guilty that I'm hearing all the backstabbing of some students to the teachers. It's very painful to hear insults from your students especially if you really did do your best at educating them.

I think that I'm lucky to be able to understand teaching as well as what being a teacher is like at an early age, it made me think: "If I am like the other insensitive people, then I do not deserve to be called a teacher nor called a student..."

SIR DATZ THE GREAT said...

As a teacher I must be ready for everything...the moment i chose to become one it means I must embrace all the hardships and challenges that will come along my way....I did not become a teacher for happy moments, popularity and fame but to teach even those who refuse to learn. I cannot deny my nature as a human...that's why i am still prone to commit mistakes and be victim of lapse of judgment.. at the end.. I live with the words of st. Pedro Poveda... "give me a teacher with a vocation and I shall give you back a school, a method and a pedagogy.”
